Ryan Hallworth

Ryan grew up in Stalybridge, Greater Manchester, and has been working from the age of 7, helping his grandparents on their market stalls in Oldham and Ashton-under-Lyne, which taught him the art of business in its rawest form.

Ryan was the Co-Founder of Waterland UK and the first UK employee, joining in February 2017. Working in conjunction with Hans Scheepers, Managing Partner of Waterland’s Dutch office, he established Waterland’s brand in the UK market, developed the UK investment strategy and built a team of close to 20 people across two offices in Wilmslow and London.

Ryan was Head of the UK team for a total of 3 years and led 6 platform investments. Ryan left Waterland in 2024, and the company grew massively during his 8 years there.

“I made the decision for Waterland to become a Founder Patron of Salford Youth Zone, as well as supporting the existing HideOut Youth Zone. This will continue even though I have left Waterland.

I joined the EMPOWER Fundraising Committee in 2023 and joined the Board of Trustees in December 2024.

I intend to continue increasing the amount of time I spend working with the EMPOWER CEO and his team.”
